Is it XNET? / odd behavior

Postby Jay on Wed Jul 12, 2006 4:30 pm

Whether or not a client is connected, I can only play 2 tracks – whether MP3s, .PLSs or streaming radio station bookmarks when the XNET server is on. This is true whether I launch an album or station from the fat client or directly on the server.

Also, the volume control on the fat client has no effect. I need to hit 'Sync All' in the fat client's setup – XTEN> Sync all. (If I do that twice, both the client and the server die.)

Turn off XNET and I can play as much as I want.

I have not defined a path to Winamp on the client. I only play music through the server.

Have latest Winamp as of today. Tried Zoomplayer, but XL won't recognize it (maybe need command lines?).
UNC media paths on the server are correct as far as I know (Windows) \\server_name\music_folder and \\server_name\Shoutcast.

Any clue/s? Thanks.

the problem is that your are not using an audio zone on your fat client, I think that xlobby need a defaut zone for every installations.... so maybe you can create a fake zone (by defining a path to Winamp) in your fat client.....

for zoomplayer, yep, you need command line, there is an "internal plugin"/support for winamp ( inside xlobby) but not for zoomplayer...

Merci' dgemily! I will play with that.

I started having XL/Winamp issues with the latest Winamp build before I started working with a fat client. So, I wasn't certain where the problem was.
