I’ve tried creating an event in the f2 options, but I can’t get it to work?
Yes, you should be creating an event in the setup options (F2/Events). Do the following:
1) Open Setup (Press F2)
2) Goto the Events tab
3) Click on the little plus symbol next to skin (or where ever you want to create your event)
4) For symplicity sake, there is most likely an event group called goto. Just click on that to highlight it
5) Click on the "Add Event" button.
6) Name your new event to the website you want to access (ie CNN), and keep it highlighted
7) in the "Commands" window scroll down to view web browser commands
8 ) Select the goto url command and in the URL window, add
http://www.cnn.com9) Click on the "Add" button to add the command to your event you just called CNN.
10) Close Setup
Now in your screen in which you want to call on your newly created event, open the skin editor (Pause/Break)
11) Click on the "Screen" tab
12) Click on the "Add Button" tab
13) Select your button to add to your screen, then click on the "Add" button
14) Now goto the new button on your screen, click anywhere within the button to highlight/control it (your cursor will change to four arrows when you are over a button that you have selected)
15) Goto the "Item" tab within the skin editor
16) Goto the "Event" tab
17) Under the "Click Event", press "Assign"
18) Scroll through and find your newly created CNN event under skin/goto
19) Once highligted, click on the "Select" button
That should be it. If you have a browser window on that same screen, clicking on the button should take you to CNN's website.
Hope that helps.
