saving changes to skins without exiting editor

I've noticed that if I am making changes to several screens in my setup and just go from one to the next without exiting the editor and something happens and causes XLobby to freeze, etc, those changes are lost. Is there a way to make the changes be written to the xml files without exiting the editor after each screen or am I just doing something wierd (which is ENTIRELY possible

What I do is open the editor, and make my changes, using the "goto" tab to change screens I'm working on.

Thanks! it's VERY frustrating when you're working away and something goes wrong and you loose everything!
