What are these graph files in the new release

Can someone explain what these are and what this adds to the functionality? I have no idea.

Filter graphs control the playback... it gives u possibility to build how the media files are played from simple building blocks called direct show filters. if u r familiar with kX DSP or VST, the principle is same, data flows trough graph from source to sink, except in dshow data is not just audio, but video also. Most of player software (all new ones) use dshow filter graphs, but they do so under covers, astracted away from users. Now xlobby gives u direct access, possibilities are endless. Question is just finding right filters and connecting them in suitable way for your application.

I think what P3rv3rtB3ar (that is hard to type!) was trying to say is that it gives you complete control over the "under the hood" way that video and audio filters (think ffdshow, dscaler, nvidia purevideo etc) are linked together to produce what you see and hear. If you have multiple audio devices you can alter the way the filters are linked together, or even split the output to suit your own personal preferences without relying on windoze or the media player you are using to do it for you.
