Can't import music database (all flac files)

Help each other out

Postby James-e on Fri Dec 01, 2006 12:22 am

Thanks for the help mate, I really appriciate it.

I have found something that had the same effect as converting.

If I right click to bring up the context menu then go to "file operations" > "Move, Rename or Copy Files". It has the same effect as what it did when I converted them. The files name are altered in the same way as when they were converted but because I was cconverting to the exact same format and compression level, the files end up the same, only the is 100 times faster.

But now I still have the same problem as I did before on most of my music.

Albums/Folders that contain tracks ONLY from one artist are imported but Various Artist Album/Folders are not.

Metadata from a VA track.

Artist Name : Various
Track Title : DJ Hazard - Selector
Album Title : Drum & Bass Essentials CD1
Date : 2005
Genre : Drum & Bass
Album Artist : DJ Hype
Track Number : 04
Disc Number : 1
Total Discs : 3

Metadata from an artist track.

Artist Name : The Prodigy
Track Title : Firestarter
Album Title : Their Law: The Singles 1990-2005 CD1
Date : 2005
Genre : Electronic
Track Number : 1

Any Ideas.

Found the problem :D

The problem was something to do with Album Artist, I took Album Artist and put that into the Artist Name field leaving Album Artist blank. I was then able to import those tracks into Xlobby. So now it's just a case of doing the rest.

rembetis, I can't thank you enough for your help mate :D
