Power DVD Ultra

Postby shaggyboiler on Wed Dec 27, 2006 5:27 pm

I just got it and installed it. Trying to setup PowerDVD in xlobby.

Power DVD works if I launch it by itself. If I launch it within Xlobby though it crashes.

Deamon tools mounts the .img file fine. then powerdvd starts up then crashes. I exit xlobby go to the drive that is mounted. Powerdvd loads and plays the movie fine.

Any ideas?

Ok figured out that problem. My mistake. It was pointing to a old version of Power DVD that I didn't uninstall.

Now to figure the command line out to acutally open the .img or .iso file.

Is there a good way to control the software via remote? Can you sendmessage it, or send commands via command line or anything?

To control powerDVD, I use Girder directly. There are a few GML files on the girder site.
The nicest solution may be to use xremote and girder. But have xlobby send the commands to powerDVD by coppying the commands from the girder events.

Nice...i'm glad there is some option to control it if this is all we get for a Blu-ray/HD DVD player for the next year.
