[Fixed]Question for Naylia (and the others) about usbuirt

Postby tomprout on Thu Oct 05, 2006 8:08 am

Hi !

I post this message here as mp seems to be disabled on this forum.

I still have some problems with my usbuirt when coming out from standby pr hibernate mode. I have to unplug then replug it to get it works.
I have noticed by reading this post that Naylia had the same problem than me :

Can anybody help me ?

Thanks in advance...

Have you tried using devcon http://support.microsoft.com/kb/311272/EN-US/ from MS. It allows you to add and remove devices via the command line. You may be able to remove and then re-add the usb-uirt device on resume from standby using girder commands.

BTW I have a usb-uirt and do not have any of these problems. Also, are you keeping the device powered while the pc is off (in power manangement properties for the usb-uirt in device manager).

Anyway thanks for the link I take look at this article but I really would to understand why it works on your computer and not on mine...

My first HTPC had the same issue. I use the usbuirt via girder so I set a disable/enable device on standby.

My latest HTPC doesn't have this problem.

I think I found the solution of my problem. If I cretae an event on girder which put my computer in standby mode it seems to work. So instead of using windows menu button shut down I ask to girder to standby my computer so he can mange usbuirt as well...
