Need some help

HI All

I had been using Xlobby on an old HTPC that I have since gotten rid of. I am now trying to load it on a system that will only be used as a music jukebox and I am running into some problems, I was hoping you could help with.

First let me start by saying I do have the .Net Framework installed version 1.1

Now my problems:

1) Music Files will not Play:
Using the default skin, I mapped Xlobby to where foobar is saved on my system. I also mapped and imported my music files. When I go into the main screen, I can see all of my cover art and when I click on the covers, I can see all of the songs. However, when I click on the songs, nothing plays. I see the track information on the top of the main screen, but I will not actually play. I cannot figure out why. If I just open Foobar and choose a track, it plays fine, but not when choosen out of XLOBBY. Is there anywhere else in Xlobby I need to go besides the two places I mentioned earlier?

2) I cannot get any skin besides the default to display. I have downloaded a couple skins and placed then in the skins folder, and I copied the fonts to the "FONTS" folder on the C-Drive, but when I go into XLOBBY and choose a new skin, it realaunches as a plain balck screen. I can still hit F2 and get into the editor, where I can revert back to default, but none of the other 4 skins I tried will work.

This is not a big deal, because I actually like the default skin, but I would like to try the others.

3) The default skin will show all of my cover art, but I would like to also included the Artist and Album name underneath the cover art, as some covers aren't always clear about what exactly they are. Can anyone give me a skinning tip that will help me simply add the Artist and Album Name display either above or beneath the cover art?

Thanks

First off, the latest Xlobby .exe requires .Net 2.0. Not sure which .exe you are using, but this might be the cause of your skin problems.

1. Do you have the Foobar plugin in the right place? Check this thread to be sure.

2. See above.

3. Navigate to your movie page. Hit Pause/Break. Highlight/click the marquee surrounding your cover art area. Click the "Category" tab, then "Layout" and then choose one of that alternate layouts like "Bottom 1", "Bottom 2" etc.

Hope that helps.

SO I got Foobar to work and I got the Artist and Albumn names to display, but for some reasons none of the Skins work yet. Not a big deal though cause for my purposes I actually like the default

Thanks for the help

I've beev having the same problem as far as loading most other skins. I have .NET 2 installed and when I try to use other skins I only get a black screen. I have tried this on two different systems. Any help would be appreciated.

Make sure that you don't have an extra directory in your "skins" directory.

CORRECT
<xlobbypath>\skins\<newskin>\<directories and files>

Sometimes you can end up with an extra directory due to unzipping.

WRONG
<xlobbypath>\skins\<newskin>\<newskin>\<directories and files>

When I first started Xlobby I have exactly these same problems. Took me awhile to get both Foobar and new skins to work. These answers from rembetis and Atlas were the exact ones needed to fix the problems. There almost needs to be a seperate program, maybe called called ChkXlobby  , included with Xlobby to check and fix these problems.

That was it. Thanks

One last question. When I use my mouse to click on a song, it automatically starts playing that song, even if another one is already playing. I looked in the skin editor and could find a way to map a mouse click so that it adds to a playlist and not automatically play. Any ideas?

Hit f2, goto event editor, look at startup event, is it play or add? Make it add.
