xlobby frezes building EPG using o2grapper data

Postby amtssp on Tue Sep 07, 2004 1:40 pm

Hi

Could anybody please help, I have been trying to use o2grapper to collect data for the EPG.

The Tvdata.xml file is fine when used in myHTPC, but when put in the xlobby\xlmtv dir Xlobby freezes during startup. It stops at the point: Loading: building guide.

I'm using the latest version of o2grabber 1.05, and the latest version of xlobby (from the download page).

Here is a part of the xml-file:
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="iso-8859-1" ?>
- <tv generator-info-url="http://www.o2design.se/o2grabber/" generator-info-name="o2grabber 1.0.5.23427">
- <channel id="dk1">
<display-name lang="dk">DR1</display-name>
</channel>
- <channel id="dk2">
<display-name lang="dk">DR2</display-name>
</channel>
- <channel id="dk3">
<display-name lang="dk">TV3</display-name>
</channel>
- <programme start="20040907063000 00" stop="20040907063100 00" channel="dk1">
<title lang="dk">Morgen for dig</title>
<desc lang="dk">For børn.</desc>
</programme>
- <programme start="20040907063100 00" stop="20040907064500 00" channel="dk1">
<title lang="dk">Postmand Per</title>
</programme>
- <programme start="20040907064500 00" stop="20040907070000 00" channel="dk1">
<title lang="dk">Når enden er god</title>
</programme>
- <programme start="20040907070000 00" stop="20040907083000 00" channel="dk1">
<title lang="dk">TV Avisen</title>
<desc lang="dk">Med dansk sport og debat i studiet.</desc>
</programme>

Can anybody locate the problem?

Thanks

Look like you start/stop times are messy e.g. ="20040907063100 00". the last "00" refers to your time zone settings. Try to get rid of those and import to Xlobby again. I believe Xlobby ignores the timezone info so it doesn't matter much.

@Cosworth

Thanks, you were right. In the first place I didn't choose any timezone offset inside o2Grabber, so if I instead choose +1 (for Denmark), grab the data - now xlobby can make a epg.dat file from the epg.xml file. So it stops freezing. So far so good.

BUT, now when I go into xlobby (first screen) and choose TV-guide, The next page is empty. Only the name of the day is shown. No TV-shows.

Furthermore, if I click on up or down, or the two arrows right and left, xlobby closes very quickly and I'm left at the desktop.

I have looked inside the EPG.dat file, and it seems to contain my TV-data:
Here is a copy from notepad:

Any suggestions now - at least I have come a bit further, now xlobby can open using my xml-file.
Thanks

OK everything solved.

You need to rename your epg.xml file to xmltv.xml

Thats it

Recording?

Postby amtssp on Fri Sep 10, 2004 6:36 am

Tak cosworth, hvor mange danskere tror du vi er der benytter xlobby?

But now the EPG is working, my next problem occurs. How do I go further?

I want to click on a program, and start recording using ie GOTTV.

But nothing happens when I click on a program, how/where do I tell xlobby to start a specific aplication when I click on a TV-show?

You're in for a disappointment now.
The Xlobby EPG can't do anything besides displaying the guide. There's no integration with any pvr out there :(

I use GB-PVR and it's web based tv guide. You could display that within Xlobby through a browser window dedicated for that. GB-PVR also works with O2grabber after some tweaking (the damn time zones are at fault again). Have a look here:http://www.gbpvr.com/

Hi, are you sure, I seem to remember that some members describe that they are able to use the xlobby EPG with a TV-rocording program.

I have just read this page, but I havent tried it yet. But it seems like something in the right direction:
