Send key strokes & events from xlobby

Hi all !

Two questions

1.is it possible to send keystroke combination from a button in xlobby for example, pressing a button i the skin is the same as pressing ctrl+k+a or something on the keyboard ?

2. Is it possible to send an event for example execute file,open dvd tray or something, by pressing an icon in the skin from one installation of xlobby to another, not using fat client or thin client, if so how is it done.

Found the plugin sendkey so it solved that problem but nr 2 still stands, and now i would like to add nr 3 is it possible to display just one record from a rss db ?
i have a rss feed that displays data from 1-wire temp probes one of them is for outside temp, i would like to use a category to dispaly just that record, is it possible ?
And how do you refresh a rss feed in xlobby only on startup ? alot of question but when you got bit by the skinning bug .....

To answer your question 2, you could use the xReceive plugin. I was successful at controlling P3rvTalk devices (KX DSP Mixer control) on my music server from another computer. Though I did this via using a fat client with a different skin. Its been a while since I played around with it, but if I recall, on the client machine it is just running command line entries, and the actual plugin resides on the "server" machine. A direct link for downloading can be found in my plugin document...doing a search will reveal on how to use it.

Hmmm, if you know what you're looking for, you could use XjumpTo plugin in combination with hidden category.

Just create category with the database in question, set it to hidden in editor, and create text with data from that cat. Then, whith XjumpTo, you find the field (jump to it) in category, and the text will change. Or, you could just set the cat to be large enough to display only 1 item.

Seems to simple just to make it small will try that and hope that the record in the db will show up in the same place every time. thanx
