Windows CE Update

Postby capecodscot on Tue Apr 04, 2006 2:59 pm

Continuing from my previous post. I have taken delivery of a Roomvue airpanel which is beautifully constructed and exactly what I have been looking for. The only problem is that I cannot get it to run Xlobby ppc screens. I have downloaded all new .net framework 2 and .net compact 2, I can get a strong wireless connection but no screens. With exactly the same setup I can run ppc screens perfectly on my HP Ipaq. I suspect that this could be a Windows CE .Net issue but I really an not familiar with this op system.

Does anyone have any idea or suggestions as right now I'm stuck with a very nice looking but useless 10" touchscreen remote!

Thanks in advance.

I am interested in the RoomVue panel but would be running it via Remote Desktop Client. Any luck with RDC?

I called the number on the Kube website and spoke to someone who identified themselfs as "the developer" of the hardware. He quoted a list price of $1,100.

He also stated that a new model with an 800 mhz processor and embedded XP was in the works, so it would appear that the current RoomVue models are close-outs for a discontinued model.

:(

Ouch. I would rather buy a UMPC when they get a little cheaper (~$ 600) after 6-8 months

Ouch is right.. I would have to agree that I think I will wait to see how the UMPC plays out since I was wanting to have at least 4 stations planted at key locations in a new house I'm working on. Thanks for the info..

I have resolved the problem and everything is working extremely well. The panel really is great and does absolutely everything pefectly.

If anyone is interested I can supply these for $990 plus shipping.
