Changing sort order of movie database

Postby xlobbyer on Sat Dec 02, 2006 1:52 pm

Can I change the sort order by ascending or descending in the database editor?
In the database editor when I sort by collection number, for instance it always shows number 1 thru 100.I'd like it to show 100 to 1.
So I'd like it to show the last movies I added first.

Well I finally figured out that I don't need the "b" just "-1:" in front of my sort field.
Thanks for your help. :)

I use Xlobby for my movie collection, and I just use a remote with USB-UIRT to control it.Searching using the remote with the alphabet/keyboard screen is tricky.
I set up some buttons on remote that lets me sort by sorttitle or -1:collectionnumber.So when I press the "A" button it sorts by sorttitle.
I'd like to set up the number buttons on remote to let me sort by letters, such as button number "1" would be assigned to letters A,B,C.
So when I press button "1" it shows all movies starting with letters A,B,C.
Another example would be to assign button "5" to the word "THE" to sort by movies starting with "THE".
Can this be done somehow?

Have you checked the xremote plugin yet? You can setup sms events for your numberpad, so instead of using numbers, it acts as text input similar to telephone. That makes searching pretty easy from number buttons.
