Internal Media Player

Postby homepc on Mon May 07, 2007 8:54 pm

The internal media player works fine with the movies. BNut is there a way I can make it also work with my home movies? Currently, when I select a home movie, zoomplayer takes over. I can seem to figure out how to assign the internal media player to my home movies.

Thanks

Ray,

What file format is your movies. In F2 setup, look at File Types to see what player is associated with the file extension your using.

wesblack, they are in AVI format. I looked at the file types in F2, and I have zoomplayer for those. So, I disabled zoomplayer in the file types. Now I have nothing in file types, but the internal media player still will not play them. Does it not support AVI?

Thanks

AVI (Audio Video Interleave, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Audio_Video_Interleave ) is just a container for the movie files - there can be all sorts of actual formats within the AVI; divX, Xvid, mpeg etc. Do you know what actual format they are? Maybe your format is incompatible with the internal player although if it will play in ZP it should play in the internal player as they both use directshow filters.

m_ski,

Thanks for the reply. I'm not sure how to find the actual format. I played it in Windows Media Player and did a properties and this is what I found:

Video codec: LEAD MCMP/MJPEG Decoder

Does this help any? It plays in WMP and zoomplayer. Maybe I just dont have it setup right in XL to use the internal media player. What event should I use to sent the file to the media player to play it?

Thanks

Question for Steven or Wes I'm afraid, if it plays in WMP I would have thought it would play in the internal player.

If your playing it in zoomplayer then it should work in our internal player since both are direct show based. Try using the new installer on the downloads page it has an auto importer for a seperate videos section. It sounds like your skin might have got a little messed up.
