Controlling Theatertek Question

Postby jim1234miller on Tue Jul 26, 2005 7:49 pm

Sorry, to ask such a standard question but I cant figure out what I've done wrong. I'm using Theatertek 2 and the latest greatest xlobby with the colby skin. My problem is that I cant get any of the theatertek events in the event manager to work. I changed the events per the instuctions in the tips and trick forum, i.e. changing the class and window name, but nothing seems to work. I reinstalled both xlobby and theatertek in a last ditch effort, but to no avail. I'm hoping that there is some little thing that I have overlooked that will allow the htpc nirvana that I so desperatley need.

Are you using the event files for TheaterTek 2 or the old 1.x version? The correct event files for TheaterTek 2 are here:

<a href="http://www.xlobby.com/files/badabing/files/theatertek_20.zip">THEATER TEK 2.0 Event Files</a>

Unzip the file and copy it to your xlobby\'skin name'\events directory

I am trying to use the static skin but I cannot get the movie player buttons to work with TT. I know that it is set up for Zoomplayer, but I have TT working in general--if I select a movie from the Static/XL list it opens and plays in TT just fine--but I cannot, say skip a track or stop with the movie controler buttons. What am I supposed to do!?!

(I am using the new TT files from the post above.) Thanks for the help!

It sounds like the zoomplayer events are still being used instead of the TT events.
Did you use the skin editor to assign the new TT click events to the DVD control buttons?
Did you install the TT events in the eventgroups folder in the main Xlobby folder or the eventsgroup folder of your skin (if 2 events have the same name, ie "play", Xlobby will use the event is the skin folder before the event in the main folder)?
