Where is the theatertek splash?

Postby bassysmart on Wed Oct 11, 2006 6:40 pm

I saw a post here a while back saying that you can change the theatertek splash picture to one of your own choice.

I cant find the theatertek plash icon anywhere though?

Any ideas where it is?

Thanks.

I believe it is in the theatertek root folder under the name "background.bmp".

Maybe there isn't one in there to begin with, but if you searched the forums, you'd find this:

Forgive me if I sound harsh, work is being frustrating today.

To get rid of the splash screen which appears on launch you have to edit the registry. To change the background image which displays after the splash screen just create your own bmp image, name it background.bmp and place it in the theatertek folder. If you need any more assistance with getting rid of the splash screen I can refresh my memory and dig into my registry to see what I did.

Cheers,

The background.bmp file does NOT exist at first. Just name yours that way and it will use it.

I believe the best/easiest way to do this is to have a background.bmp that is nothing but black. This way there are no registry changes and you can change it back easily.

There are two different things. There is a splash screen which is it's own little box that comes up with copyright info etc. first when launched. Then there is the background.bmp which is the black screen with TT logo.

To remove the splash screen you can use 2 different ways.
1) Add /nosplash to the command line for TT if using through Xlobby
2) Modify registry so that it never comes up no matter the launching method.
Goto [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\TheaterTek\TheaterTek DVD 2.0] and add "HideSplash"=dword:00000001
