Help with xldvd import

Postby keithf on Fri Jun 09, 2006 6:07 pm

I was wondering if someone wouldn't mind posting a working default.xml file for the XLDVDImport plugin. I have DVD Decryptor working OK, but when I try to do it in Xlobby it hangs on the region code. I'd like to check my default against a working one to see what I'm doing wrong.

Thank you rembetis for your reply. I was able to get it working by changing "<registrysetting key="GENERAL_WarningsRCEProtection" value="D:1" />" to D:0, but now it leads me to some new questions.
I am new to the syntax and the command [DISK_LABEL] gives me a folder called [DISK_LABEL] .
I also am having trouble getting zoom player to play it correctly, in or out of xlobby. Should I post a new question or ask it here? I have searched the forum and don't see an answer.

I think the problem is that you are spelling DISK with a K. Try "DISC".

Need more information. Do you mean you can't play the files you ripped? If so, you probably need to tweak your Decrypter settings. Take a look at the readme file in the Decrypter folder, and maybe check out this guide for some help.

After my very stupid question, I could see where you would think that I was new to ripping dvd's. I've used the decryptor for some time. The ripped dvd will play OK with Power dvd 6 just fine, but with zoom player it skips through the movie. It plays for a few minutes, freezes, then jumps several chapters forward. I am using the Power dvd codec in Zoom Player.

Hmmm... that's odd. You're not using a cracked version of Zoom Player are you? In any case, if PowerDVD will play it, then the rip is probably ok, though you haven't specified what mode you're ripping with. Might be a question best asked (or searched for) on the Zoomplayer forum.

I am using Zoom player Pro, and ripping the dvd's in file mode. I will reinstall Zoom tonight and see what happens. Thanks for the help.

if you aren't actually going to compress the DVD I would suggest ripping it in ISO mode and then using daemontools to mount the ISO image to a virtual DVD drive (xlobby does this automatically if you have daemontools installed). I find this more reliable than using file mode in zoomplayer - I got lots of audiosync issues.

After messing with several video codecs last night, I decided to look into what I could do with my MyHD card. I didn't realize it would play the .vob file. . It worked perfect. I think I'll be saying goodbye to Zoomplayer and all the extra programs it needs to go with it!
