Milkdrop startup to second monitor (fullscreen)??

Postby WannaTheater on Thu Sep 14, 2006 1:09 am

Does anyone know if this is possible? I have been unable to find any documentation on milkdrop_config.ini.

Basically when I invoke the visualization, I would like it to only play on my SECOND monitor at fullscreen.

Thanks!

Have a look in the milkdrop settings in winamp (options>visualisation>condifgure plugin and select mildrop). you will get a heap of display option. You tie the visualisation to a graphics adapter or use the dual head settings (button near the bottom) if you are not using true fullscreen mode. XLobby will use these settings as all it's doing is calling the plugin from winamp. I do this to run on one monitor whilst winamp and xlobby run on an other.

have fun

Thanks defrag! This will do it.

.... I tried to do this several times yesterday, and could not get the "Configure" screen to pop up from within Winamp. I just figured out why: The milkdrop configure screen will not show WHILE YOU ARE RUNNING MILKDROP. YOu only get some OSD commands within the milkdrop window. Oh well! Thanks!

the last time i tried this there was a bug in milkdrop...

the fullscreen monitor was not saved correctly, so if you exited fullscreen then go back to fullscreen it starts up on monitor 1.

there was a fixed milkdrop.dll on the website, but i dont have a link to it anymore.

what if you use xmovewindow plugin and set the x and y cordinate for milkdrop to your other screen. I know this works for other programs like progdvb.
I´m working on a skin that use this , xlobby running in 4:3 in first screen and all movies, tv programs running in 16:9 in second screen, set with xmovewindow.

This is working fine for me. Milkdrop 1.04d, Winamp 5.24.

In the Milkdrop configuration page, accessable from within Winamp (NOTE YOU WILL NOT SEE THIS PAGE IF MILKDROP IS RUNNING), I've set "Use Fake Fullscreen Mode" for my second monitor (which is a 4:3 tv). From what I read, if you use "Fullscreen" with a dual-head card, it will spread across both monitors.

So for me, winamp plays on monitor 1, and on television I get "fullscreen" visualization.

that works ok, but its not really fullscreen.

if you run it in fullscreen mode it runs a lot faster and you get no v-sync tearing...

I currently do the same has you, but it looks so-much better when its running fullscreen on the projetcor that i think i will go back and get it to work.

I don't think I've seen any V-sync tearing... unless you mean the tiny pause when the visualization transitions...

I also have "Allow Page Tearing" set to false... Not sure what that does.
