PC client movie play problem

My PC client doesn't work like my ppc client and I can't figure out why. I am using the HeavyMetal skin. When I use my ppc client to surf movies and hit "play", everything works properly (ie. the movie plays on the server htpc and the ppc screen is still functional). For my PC client (a Progear touchscreen PC), when I hit play, the client screen gets garbled and I lose control of my PC client. Restarting the client doesn't reset it, the server has to be turned off to reset it. I think that the thin PC client is trying to launch zoomplayer locally... Anyway, can someone tell me how to correct this so my PC client works like my ppc client?

I am having the same problem except this event seems to occur on my Pocket PC a Dell Axim x30. The screen on the ppc looks great until the movie actually starts and all the text on each button on the ppc gets so small I can't read it, but every button works fine. Just as you mentioned you can reset the client and it makes no difference you must restart the server to get everything back. If I find something I will post.

Slim 31, actually, I have that small text problem on my Ipaq too. This is a different problem (I think...). On my Progear PC client, the screen turns completly "HeavyMetal" grey and is blurred. You cannot see any text or graphics. Just a smeared and blurry version of the HeavyMetal skin background color.

if you open the skin editor and look at the font for the text that shrinks is it a fixed size or a percentage size. I found that if i set text to a fixed sized it wouldn't magically shrink on me.

Naylia: If I understand you correctly I believe that is how I have it set, and no change. It almost seems as if the server sends something back to the client only when play is pressed on the client and this only happens for movie playback using zoomplayer. The button is assigned the movies>playmovie command in the event manager. Which seems to work perfictly when executed from the server.

hjackson: I am sure that you have already tried this but have you completely removed all traces of xlobby on the pc client and put back on to include the .Net Framework. I personally have not used the pc client screens that baddabing created. I know in the past I have overlooked the smallest detail that should have been obvious to me.[/img]

Slim 31, thanks for the reply. Xlobby had never been downloaded onto that PC client so there are no Xlobby traces to confound the issue. Naylia, all my fonts are fixed.

I updated my xlobby exe on the server to the latest experimantal version and the problem went away. It is dated Dec 16 2004 file version 1.0.1811.39657.

I was using the exe dated September 22 2004 version 1.0.1726.30336
