Launching Dolby Digital Demo OR Movie Trailers

Hi,

I am a relatively new user of XLobby and i've got to say that i am extremely impressed with not only the program itself but also the support and level of knowledge that is floating around in here. All in all any problems that i have encountered i have found answers to the problems by searching other threads etc.

This now brings me to my latest problem, Launching Dolby Digital Demos OR Movie Trailers prior to movie. I have searched the forum and found some excellent threads explaining exactly what i am trying to achieve although for whatever reason i simply can't get it to work.

I am using TheaterTek 2 as the player and i have my movies DB populated via DVD Profiler and i can hit the play button and it launches the movie. I was extremely happy once i got this part working... Anyway i have now downloaded a few Dolby Digital Demo files (MPEG) and thought i could simply add a command "Play Trailer" and select a particular file to the "Load tt playlist" event. Well unfortunately this didn't work and after some more reading i think it has to do with Theatertek and MPEG files. So next i ripped of a movie the theatrical trailer into a VOB file and point the above mentioned command to this file. Still no luck it just goes straight to the movie.

Next i thought i'm going to get an understanding of the "Load tt playlist" event so i removed the "Play video" command and to my surprise the movie still starts. Next i removed all commands from the "load tt playlist" event and the movie still plays.

This leaves me with a few questions,

1. How does the movie still play when there are now entries in the "load tt playlist" event. To me it doesn't seem to be utilising this event to launch the movie and therefore this is the reason why the trailer i added isn't starting either. I have looked at the file types section but i'm not entirely sure if this is the problem as it is launching any movie i select. The start event is set to movies:load tt playlist....

2. Can someone confirm that TT2.0 cannot play MPEG files pre movie (i've confirmed that TT2 can in fact play the MPEG files straight from explorer), and if this is the case where i can get a MPEG to VOB convertor OR where i can download the demos as VOB files.

Thanks in advance for any assistance, and keep up the good work.

PS I noticed a discussion about a TV Plugin, is this still on the cards? Or wasn't there enough interest?
