We expected to meet the February deadline but some items in the skin editor are taking a little longer to get finished then anticipated and system integrator sales and support issues are increasing every day causing additional delays. All of these things are making xLobby better and more powerful for V3. Steven wants to have the new skin editor in V3 usable with minable bugs and to be more in-line with what we want the new skin editor to be and not go back and re-work the look and feel of the design and menus over and over again. In simple terms he did not want to release it at 60% complete.

Obviously most of the installers are not at the level of needing to use the skin editor every day like the long term xLobby users do here. We have been selling and installing V3 on many machines in the field with no major issues and they perform at a level of most installers expect and when necessay we can log into the machine and provide any assistance to them as needed for Russound, Lighting, etc or needed skin changes until the editor is finished 100%.

Beleive me I want V3 finished to so we can get into the growing list of features we want to add and support ! :D

thanks for the info wes. I understand your dilemma but maybe we all can help finding more bugs if u let us in on the beta? I do understand it's not done but the final product is sometimes better and more solid if more testers are involved. Also I think all of us "long term xLobby users " have the knowledge to seperate a beta from a final product and will only install and help testing it on a dev machine.

only my 2 cents

Wes,

Can this be installed alongside an existing installation? It seems to know there is an existing installation and therefore wants to upgrade - and after having a quick play I can see why it's an alpha release :D

First glance though, I can see where Steven is going with it especially with the skinning - so looking forward to seeing further updates.

From the initial setup screen, use the Keep and Install option to install xLobby in a new directory.

FYI, In xLobby Ver 3 skin editor, by right mouse clicking on any of the elements of the skin now has popup menu with options.

NO FEEDBACK IS WANTED AT THIS TIME REGARDING V3, AS SOMETHINGS ARE STILL UNFINISHED OR HAVE BEEN LEFT UNFINISHED ON PURPOSE

Really? None at all?

Ok. I will wait and see where the skinning engine goes and keep my fingers crossed.

Still, kudos to SteveHanna, I can see the effort you put into it. I look forward to watching V3 mature.

Holy Carp Batman! Great to see YOU back here.

Although I agree. No feedback? Seems kind of strange.

Congrats Steven. I know how hard you've been working to get it here.

lar282,

Regarding "dvd toggle subtitle and toggle audio" it seems it did not make it. I will discuss it with Steven and let you know which future release it will be working on.
