about filters

I'm working on the contact screen in order to make mine. I have all standard filters by letters (A, B, C, D ...) But I want to make different filters for this screen : more like ABC, DEF, GHI ...

I need help or explanation about this feature. Thanks

How do you make your contacts screen? Just with a databse you made yourself or with a file from outlook?
