Converting the EPG .dat file to XML format

Is there any way to convert the EPG .dat file to an XML file format? This would make searches possible. Or is there a query I could create that would search the current EPG .dat file? I would like to be able to search by genre.

You already have a xml file - it's your original file that .dat file is created from, or am I missing something here?

haahaa....yes you are right....I did realize that after I asked the question. And then I imported the XML data into access to see if there was anything I could do. But that didn't work very well....

I just thought it would be great to have a searchable EPG.....
