Global toggle button

Got an idea, post it here

Global toggle button

Postby Marbles_00 on Mon Oct 23, 2006 7:34 am

Most likely this feature will never be incorporated, but it doesn't hurt to ask.

I love the toggle button feature, but I noticed that when different toggle states are performed by a button on a thin client, they are not shown on the server...and vise versa. Could a "Global" toggle command be created so whenever a toggle state is done on the server or client, it is reflected on the other. Similar to the Open/Close Global Overlay command.

Thanks in advance.

It'd be good for the "Shuffle" button, among other things.

I never paid note to that, but yeah, any button that can be toggled, either single like shuffle, repeat, mute, EQ or multi toggle state button (like my Partyzone toggle), should be reflected on both server and client.

Some may argue that that's what mimic can be used for. It shouldn't take an extra command to reflect toggle states between server/client.

I agree. I like the fact that the Thin Client can be run separately from XL and not interrupt the screen on the XL server but certain things like toggle buttons for status checks would be great, like lights on. As far as I know if you have a toggle button that changes when pressed for turning a light on and off depending on where you press that button (thin client or fat client) it will only show on that client that you are on, right?
