Help each other out

Crystal Player Pro

Postby Dean on Wed Nov 09, 2005 11:45 pm

Hello all. I'm new, so be gentle. Just installed xLobby and been playing with it all day - it's GREAT! Got my DVD collection imported from DVDProfiler and got the weather to work so far.
What I can't figure out how to do is to get it to play .avi files I have on my hard drive with Crystal Player Pro. Can anyone help?

Open setup with F2 and goto the File Types tab. You'll want to add the avi file type and point it to your software program. The File Types tabs is how it knows what to do with a certain extension on a file. As an argument you'll want to at minimum pass

%parameter%

which is the file's path/filename. Don't forget to click the enable button also.

Well that didn't work. xlobby will play the avi files on my hard drive with Crystal Player if I click on them from the "Files" button. I would like to be able to click "Play" in the "Movies" button and have the movie play. It doesn't do anything when I click on "Play". I think it may have something to do with the "import" in the "Basic" tab. I may not be doing that correct. I followed Jowaldo's guide, but can't get it to work. Guess you figured out that I'm a novice. This may be over my head.

Naylia-
I almost have it working. I had to put each avi file in it's own folder to get xLobby to import them. The problem I'm having now is when Crystal Player opens, it loads each word in the file name (example: "12 Angry Men" loads as 3 files - "12", "Angry", "Men") and then won't play. I really appreciate your help. Thanks for taking the time. I'm sure you'll think of something.

I think you need quotes around %parameter% like...

"%parameter%"

It will then be sent as one text string, not three separate ones.
