Multiple events for one button click?

Postby elmn8r on Wed Jun 01, 2005 1:00 am

Sorry if this has been covered in another post. I tried searching but didn't come up with anything. Is is possible to assign multiple events for one button click. For example, when I click the Movies button, I would like XL to send a Girder event to change the input on my reciever, change the input on my TV, and then goto the movies screen. I've been working with Girder to serially control my devices and have it working thru XL but haven't figured out how to get XL to send multiple events on one click...

Gforce,

Thanks for the reply. If I understand you correctly, I would build an event string for these events thru the event manager that you get to using F2 correct? Do I build all the events as one string? If so, what is the syntax to seperate the commands. Sorry if I'm a little slow to catch on...

I have a Denon 3805.

No syntax really. You create and name an event and add as many commands as you want to that event. Then you can assign the event to a button. There is also a multi threaded checkbox this enable/disables whether or not the sequence of commands are linear or if they execute silmultaneously; depending on what you want.

Another neat trick is to make page events. This would be if you went to a certain page ie. movies and an event executed, ie. reciever changes to dvd input. You can add page events by going to the desired page and adding them in the skin editor.

Let us know if you need more tips.
