How do I load a custom database into XLobby?

I'd like to try and write a plugin using a custom xml file as my database file. Is that possible?

I don't know anything about writing plugins, but all my custom databases (all 2 of them ) are in my skin's subfolder "databases" and xl loads them on startup; there is also "databases" subfolder in main xl folder, hope that helps...

the database folder of the skin is for databases that maybe skin specific, ie. radio db, menus etc. the database folder in main xl dir, is xlobby databases independent of skin. I like to put all my music, movies etc databases in the xlobby db folder so when I switch skins my databases are already populated and I dont have to copy them to the new skin I installed.

xl databases have to have to follow a certain structure, (seen in xml) or you can create and edit a database directly from xlobby itself. You can even edit a db from the skin now. (as in my movie ratings)
