Premovie Manager

Postby edbag4 on Mon Feb 23, 2004 8:57 pm

I would like to use Xlobby to activate Premovie manager but cannot find a way to "pass" the path to the movie. Has anyone come up with a way to do this? BTW: Iam using Theater Tek.

Thanks,
Ed

I havent a clue, but if this was figured out I might actually be pushed into buying that program. It seems like an awesome and fun idea when showing movies at your house.

Good news Matt!
The program is free! Now if only someone could figure out how to make it work with Xlobby!

this program should work with EXP5, just go into the events manager, and edit the movies->"play movie" and edit the "Execute file" command to point to the right location. You will probably want to delete the "execute" command if this other program will launch your movie.

Stephen:
I was able to get premovie manager to start, the problem I was having had to do with the "Passing" of the chosen DVDs path to the program.

yah it will do that now, take a look at the event i described....for the file execute event it will have %movies>paramater% as a variable to get passed to the exe. That should do what you wanted....something along the lines of

C:\premovie.exe C:\dvds\abyss\video_ts\video_ts.ifo

Welcome back Steven! I am having a problem getting EXP 5 to work on my HTPC. I am guessing my biggest problem is not knowing enough about the program to get it working. I had no problems with 39, but I can't get EXP5 to launch a movie. It launches Theater tek but not the movie (on the HDD). I haven't had much time to play with it this past week so hopefully I will make some progress this weekend.

Thanks,
Ed

I'm still not passing the info to premovie manager. Is this what I should have in the argument?

%movies>paramater%

%movies>paramater%
Code: Select all

check the  spelling of the word parameter

These DO work in Exp 5

Alright guys, I have it passing the information to premovie manager. It was working intermittenly last night, had trivia working , demos (let's all go to the lobby!) and trailers all working with the correct movie coming on at the end... pretty cool. Unfortunately today I am getting a run time error and I am not certain what has changed. As soon as I get it working consistantly I will post various settings.

Thanks for all of your recommendations.

BTW, do the metamasks determine the video file paths?

Thanks,
Ed

I have PMM working fairly solidly now. I could not use the demos, trailers, intros or outros, when I did it would sometimes work and othertimes I would get a runtime error 5. The trivia works very well and goes right into the movie with the other video options disabled. I have a question about that on the PMM thread in another forum. If I can get this problem solved we should be well on our way.
