IF I have Basic IR keypads in different zones tied in to a xantech IR switcher. if using the girder plug in. can I assign IR commands tied to the different instances of winamp to achieve individual IR zone control without affecting the other Zones ( breakdown below )

zone 1 dummy ( multizone set up)

Keypad 2 ( zone 2 ) -> IR to switcher -> to girder -> to winamp ( instance 2 play, pause Etc. )

Keypad 3 ( zone 3 ) -> IR to switcher -> to girder -> to winamp ( instance 3 play, pause Etc. )

and so on, is this possible?

If so where is the actual mapping done in girder , in winamp or in Xlobby or will it require more hardaware how about

this is a home automation cage similar to AMX or crestron I am looking at one of these

You can have multiple pocket pc's each selecting independent music for each zone with xlobby. IR might be more challenging.

What i'll work on is getting an IR router that i map and learn different brands of IR codes to eliminating conflicts.

when I achieve success I will post the schematics ( im big on documentation)

Any progress?

Hi

I have been using Homeseer to redirect some buttons on my Sky+ (SAT PVR) remote to the TV, amp, Homeseer and Xlobby but I am now thinking of having the different remotes in different areas control the volume etc in that just that zone. I don't think you can adjust zone volume or change tracks in xlobby without making it the active zone first. I may try controlling winamp direct. Anyway just wondered if you had made any progress?
