Adding cover art

Postby Jay on Wed Aug 09, 2006 12:16 pm

I've looked at the docs I can find but can't get my arms around this - prob too simple.

As you can see by the screen shot, I can locate the art. But what do you name the file and where is it to be saved? I have one cover in my library which CDEX must have downloaded and I can only find it in the Cache folder. I tried saving it with various_names.jpg in in various locations. After a Save As, I either get a file not found or Unhandled Exception depending on where I try to save it.

The file should be saved in the same folder as the music files for that particular album. Xlobby should then pickup the coverart from any picture files in that directory - they do not need to have any specific name.

yup. tried that.

If I give the art a file name (I assume these are jpgs), browse to the target music folder and hit Save Cover, I'm told the file doesn't exist.

If I type in a path c:\music\folder\filename, the editor gives me an Unhandled exception -Object reference not set to an instance of an object.

Perhaps my directory structure if wrong? The one cover I have from back in Oct. when I started XL, does not show up in the the album folder - only in the Cache folder. The music database XML for the album shows <coverart>\\machine\music\albumname\Folder.jpg</coverart>

anyway, I looked at the spiders and keyed the addys into a browser, saved each cover and manually used Setup to add the coverart.

Next is getting the art into my fat clients.
