PDA control and IR

G'day fellas.

What is the easiest way (or best way) to be able to control your IR gear (say plasma and preamp) within the Xlobby thin client on a PDA (axim v50)?

Can it all be handeled within XLobby (with plugins etc) or does one need to run other apps, like Girder etc?

If you have a USB-UIRT, you can do it all within xlobby. I use a UIRT in my music-server. I have it pointed at an AM/FM tuner, and a CD player and can control them both. Then on my PPC I just define the buttons to transmit IR...no problems. The UIRT also has a small jack in the back where you can add (I think) up to four additional transmitters.

Ok. So I need to buy a USB-UIRT and connect this to the XL PC server right? What is the range? My XL PC is about 6 metres away from the Plasma. The Pre-amp is close to the PC (less than a metre).

Also, how do I learn the Plasma and Pre-amp IR (codes) into XL?
