I finally got it working!

I went to Marbles site and downloaded the Feb 2007 build and it started working.......

Can you tell me what exact date that build was? I'm wondering if the one I have on my help site is the latest stable free version I should be telling everyone to use.

I am being told to update XL but I found out today that if I do, I will lose the ability to play music! (I posted it here: http://xlobby.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=6&t=6112

I am on 2.0.7334.4 right now and if I start a movie and then stop it, I have to close out XL completely in order to start a new one!

XL is not liking me anymore for some reason.....

This latest problem ALMOST has me looking elsewhere for my HTPC needs.....seems like I get one thing working and another stops!

fizzasist ... are you on the "free" versions or the registered version 2? You began asking about the free builds, but your build numbers are for the new Version 2 software, and you must be a registered user for those. I just want to clarify what version you are using so we can better assist.

I am running a couple of PCs with different versions.....

I have a Win2K box that I test things with and an XP with the 7334 version.....the Win2k box has been the testbed for the USB-UIRT.

I have not bought XL but am registered as a systems integrator........I have quite a few clients that would love this program if I can learn it well enough for them......

Great point cmhardwick, I too thought fiss was working with the free version.

Questions:

1) Have you been able to receive or install the entire power on/off commands from the components you were having trouble with?

2) Are all the buttons on your Harmony correctly programed for each device?

3) Are you testing your IR commands after learning process to make sure they work?

4) What are you looking for in the software...what modules are you going to be using?

Comment: I had a test machine with Millenium 2k loaded...you wouldn't think there would be any issues but I wasn't able to get it to send any RS-232 commands plus some other minor issues. Your Windows 2k machine may be a bigger issue then anything else...if you can load XP do it.

I believe I am over THAT hurdle now....I managed to get my Harmony working with both the Win2k test box and the XP (main) box.....

I think it was a combination of issues.....the 2K was not doing anything when I used the remote but I installed a newer xlobby2.exe and it fixed that issue.

The XP box was responding to the remote---I just did not have the Harmony setup right which I *think* is fixed now......(fingers crossed).....Thanks guys!

I did have to upgrade the XP box to V 2.7353.3 and that seems to have caused my "play album" to only play ONE song, then it stops. If I hit play, then it plays the next, etc.....

Also will only play one movie, then I have to close XL and re-open it---then it will play another.....weird. If I do a restore from a day or so ago (v. 2.7334.4)... it works fine...

Guess that will be my project today.......
