Resolution Change with Powerstrip ?

Postby hvs69 on Tue Nov 30, 2004 6:09 pm

I have two display profiles in powerstrip with proper timings setting to get perfect desktop on my RPTV at 856x480 and 1776x1000

I use 856x480 for Xlobby menus and 1776x1000 for DScaler and Zoomplayer. I am trying to use the application specific display profile feature of the powerstrip in conjunction with Xlobby with only partial success.

When Xlobby is running, I can switch to higher resolution display profile upon launch of DScaler for example. However when I close the DScaler window with (Alt+F4) shortcut key, the resolution fails to go back to 856x480.

When Xlobby is NOT running, the above sequence works perfectly !

Is there a workaround for this problem ?

I can always do a manual resolution change using the hotkey feature of powerstrip but I am looking for an automated solution.

Thanks.

1/ Do u use the keyboard?
2/ Do u use Girder? If so let girder handle the alt f4 and change the resoultion
3/ If no on the above. Start dscaler with a script and have the script wait for dscaler.exe to exit and then switch resolution

1. No I use remote
2. I haven't learnt how to use girder yet. It is however on my agenda.
3. What kind of script ? VB script ? I am only familiar with DOS batch files.

Thanks
