DVD Profiler Import - Doesn't work anymore

Postby sharp_1 on Fri Sep 01, 2006 3:22 am

All was fine until about 2 days ago. Now when I load updated DVD profiler db to XL nothing happens, it's like the refresh and reset buttons stopped working. I F2'ed and tried to import the dvd profiler xml manually...all I get is a big fat 0%. I checked to make sure the new movies are in the profiler xml db and they are but they are just not getting into XL anymore. I didn't play with any of the db templates or anything...any ideas???

Here is what I get when I try a F2 manual db load:

Hi sharp,

From the look of the image, you need to add the path folder/s for the movies files.

My best.

Hmmm...I never had to do that before. Do you think that may have changed in the last exe from Steven? I will give your idea a try and see what happens. Thanks for the direction!!!

Nope...I can't play with the path when using a dvdpro db, it crashes XL. Must be something else that changed in the last exe...I know the data is there, I checked the xml file to make sure...its just not getting to XL movie db.

Sharp abob is correct. The reason you are getting zero% is because there is no path to the movies. or are they all offline?

Its not a Xlobby problem. I just reimported all my movie db from dvdpro collection with XL's latest exp release. No trouble.

You will have to have a path to the movies if they are online. You can set this in the import configure tab or in the basic tab by adding the paths. If the path is there already delete it and re add it. Make sure your paths are valid. (didnt change drive letter or folder hiearchy or whatever). Just because it worked before doesnt mean something didnt get changed. Thats why experimental exes are experimental.

Some other things. You dont necessarily need the path to dvdpro as you have. You just need the path to the collection.

Also does your meta mask match mine? Or does it make a difference?
Code: Select all
\\(?<genre>.*)\\(?<name>.*)\\(?<name>.*)\\video_ts\\video_ts\.ifo
\\(?<name>.*)\\video_ts\\video_ts\.ifo
\\(?<name>.*)\\.*\.iso
\\(?<name>.*?)\\.*?
\\(?<name>.*)

Good Luck let us know what you find?

Colby, My DVD collection is all offline using a Sony DVP-CX777ES megachanger with great success. I have not had a chance to check your meta mask idea yet. I will check and see and report my conclusions. Thank you!!!

Here are my meta mask...looks like a match.

\\(?<genre>.*)\\(?<name>.*)\\video_ts\\video_ts\.ifo
\\(?<name>.*)\\video_ts\\video_ts\.ifo
\\(?<name>.*)\\.*\.iso
\\(?<name>.*?)\\.*?
\\(?<name>.*)

Hmmm??? Still searching for the problem.

Not sure what happened to my db's but both my movie and shoutcast radio db's must have been corrupt causing them not to reset, refresh or update. I deleted both within XL F2 and created new...everything is back up and running as it should. Thanks for the help!!!

This may be a long standing problem....not sure....I've always had to use hte Delete DB tab then re-import my updated one to get things right. I thought this was just part of the normal flow. I don't have that much time under my belt with XL to know better.

I used to be able to just assign a refresh command to a button for the movies database and everything would update just fine...now I can't. I hope I can get this working again.

I'm having problems as well. I played around with XLOBBY a year or two ago and then set it aside. Finally got around to building a dedicated system and am testing out current versions of software.

I cannot get my dvd profiler xml file to import into xlobby at all. My screen looks just like sharp's original post. All of my movies are offline. At this point I just want my dvd profiler list to show in XLOBBY and maybe later I'll change to hosting my movie collection online. I've tried deleting the .xml file and recreating it from profiler...nothing...I deleted the db from within xlobby...nothing. Well actually, I did get a pop up at one point that looked like it was going to search for the movie info, but it came back empty. The rest of the time I can't even get the popup to come up.

I hate replying to my own post, but I found baddabing's setup guide at http://www.xlobby.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=2737. VERY helpful to get things back up and running. Had to clear the cobwebs to remember how to set this up.

Did you in-fact get the dvdpro db to refresh from a XL refresh event or ???

At this point I don't know. I bought a couple new movies over the weekend (ok 7 new ones) and I put them in dvd profiler. updated my xml file. before reading your post, i went into the setup screen on xlobby and manually updated...but with problems.

None of the new movies are showing their coverart. If I click on the white space that should be the art, it brings up the info on the movie, but no pic. I've tried recreating my xml file a couple times and then clicking refresh. Still get the blank coverart.

However, when I clicked "refresh" on the movies page, it did bring up a dialogue box and appeared to be working.

BTW - if anyone knows how to solve the problem of blank images in movies, would be glad to hear the solution.
