Slideshow on 2nd monitor (Picasa?)

Postby WannaTheater on Sat Sep 16, 2006 11:22 am

I've just started tackling photos.... My setup is a dual-head video card. I've configure all media, DVD, and music visualization to play on Monitor 2. I am trying to use Picasa as a photo viewer/slideshow. Unfortunately I cannot seem to find any way for its "slideshow" to come up on anything other than Monitor 1. Has anyone figured this out, or is ther another application that I can use which will allow me to specify that I want the Fullscreen slideshow to be displayed on monitor 2?

Thanks!

not that I know of...

What if the 2nd monitor is set up as a 'extended desktop' and you make a custom skin that stretches out to the side to extend to the far edges of the 2nd monitor? But nothing is in the area of that one until its time for the slideshow..

I am set up as extended desktop. My primary monitor is my "everyday working space." I am only using XL on primary monitor for testing. Second monitor (extended desktop) is actually bigscreen on the other end of the house. Zoomplayer has command line to startup on 2nd monitor, as does configuration in music visualization, which is what I want (Xlobby won't be seen on the bigscreen). I am controlling Picasa through Girder, so it is basically operating as an independent app from XL, so I don't think a new screen would work. The problem is that whether Picasa is open on desktop portion of Monitor 1 -or- desktop portion of Monitor 2, slideshow always shows on Monitor 1 (meaning not on my bigscreen :( ).

While running other apps on the second monitor (like powerpoint), turning to slideshow will show fullscreen ON THE SECOND MONITOR. I think this is a limitation (i.e. showstopper) for my desired use of Picasa as a slideshow tool for my home theater.
Unless I can find a workaround...
