Search by album name not track name

Hi all. I'm using the heavymetal skin on my PPC. Question though.

When I search for an MP3 in the music search, you can only search by track. Can I change this so it searches by album name instead?
this is in the find menu with the little keyboard at the bottom.

If so how is this done?

I use the 'standard' Simplicity skin.

On that, if I filter by Album and then do a search, it does the search on album name.

So it must be possible. Not quite sure the precise config you need though.

You need to create a button or add an event to change what it is searching for. If you only ever wish to search album, then a screen event will work, if you want to toggle between them then you will need buttons.

The event has command, set filter, where category= music and filter= album

I am not familiar with Heavy metal skin, but I know thats how you make a search filter accordingly.

This may sound like a stupid question... But how do I set the filter up?

Not a stupid question,
You may have to create an event. That is done by opening the setup menu and then going to the event manager tab. In the folder labled skin are the events for a particular skin. You can create an event in a group (ie. search or music) by expanding that group and adding an event. Name the event, (ie. filter album) then add the Xlobby command set filter from the right pain, where category= music and filter= album. the command should be added in the event tree on the left, under your new event name.

Now close the setup menu and open the skin editor (f2). Click the button or page on which you wish to trigger the event. Choose the event you just created. This will toggle the album filter on, as opposed to the artist filter.

This lead me in the right direction. The filter for the PPC screen was on artist, I just changed it to albumname
