Help with Autoplay

I'm at my wits end so maybe somebody can help me out. I can not get autoplay to work, using my own skin, Colby's, or Jowaldo's Beta3. I've tried to get each to work with CD's and DVD's, and nothing. I've tried it on both my XP machines and neither one works so I must be doing something wrong.

Autoplay has been disabled for all media types by going to My Computer\CD Drive\Properties\Autoplay\ and setting each media type to Take No Action.

In Xlobby I've created popup overlays tied to the autoplay events on the MISC tab. Testing via Event manager works fine - as it does for Colby & Jowaldo's skin. But I never get the overlay on insertion. Xlobby is never seeing the insertion event on either of my XP boxes.

The only thing I can think is that there must be somewhere in the Setup screen for me to tell Xlobby which drive is my CD/DVD Drive. Unless it actually goes out to Windows and figures it out on it's own.

I'm running XP SP1 fully patched and Xlobby Pre27 (but this was also happening on Pre17 and Pre23).

I can't figure it out!!!!

I'm not sure how the other skins are set up (or if they already are or not).

Load up my beta3 test skin, hit f2 to go into setup, then the "misc" tab. Under autoplay there should be a audio cd and dvd entry. If not create them, and they should be set up like this:

Name: Audio cd
Extentions: cda
Event: Autoplay:audiocd inserted

Name: DVD
Extentions: video_ts
Event: Autoplay:dvd inserted

Note the events assigned, and that should give you an idea of how it works. Let me know if it still doesn't work.

Jowaldo - Using your Beta 3 skin under the Misc tab the events for both CD and DVD are set up correctly. And if I go to the event manager and to test the events they work fine. But when I put a DVD or CD in nothing happens even though I have autoplay set to "Take No Action" in Windows. I've tried at least 4 different skins that have Autoplay set up in them and none of them work, there must be something else I'm missing.

How does Xlobby know which drive is the DVD\CD drive?

Scratch that - I've now had some luck. I have no idea what I changed to make it start working, but I'm not gonna complain. I can't believe it's finally working after 3 days of trying!!

Hmm, not sure what it could have been, but FYI I know that there is no need to disable autoplay in windows for it to work right, cuz xlobby takes control over that when its running.
