Add field to music database

Postby DlDuff on Mon Jul 31, 2006 2:04 pm

There is a command to get the number of songs in the playlist, but not one (that I know of) to get the total play time. I was thinking one way to do this would consist of adding a time field to the music database. I probably could write a script to update the music xml file, but it would be easier and more consistent if the time was created on database import. Is this something I can do myself or is this a request that should be sent to the creator?

I had planned to implement it in next release of xPerT. Well, functions which count total, or avarage of any numeric field in any database.

Actually, if you are using Foobar as your player, there is a new command to retrieve playlist length. Check the bottom of this thread for more info.

rembetis,

That may be a good option for me. I'll try it as soon as I can.

Thanks

OK, Steve says that "variable>totalplaylisttime" will have the playlist time. How does this work? Do I enter this verbatim in the text tab of skin editor to see the time? (can't get that to work)

I can't get it to work either. I know I'm overlooking something simple. Anyway, I posted in the other thread. Hopefully Steven will re-emerge and take a look.
