multizone over 2 PC's

Postby wajcn50 on Sat Feb 05, 2005 8:00 am

Hi,

I have multizone working fine through 2 soundcards in my server PC.

Is it possible to setup a third (and maybe more?) zone that would output through another soundcard on another PC on the lan?

I guess I could use a soundcard in the server that would provide me with multi output (the server PC only has 2 PCI slots), but that would be messy as I'd need to run additional cable and the server PC is built in (it will come out but again it would make a mess!). Also I'd need to buy a new soundcard.

Sounds good!

Is there any info available on Xnet or do I just need to have a trawl around the forums?

Thanks for your help.

Just the forums.

Steven has said it is #1 on the list after he finishes his skin.

I want to do the same thing as you so I follow all x-net stuff closely. Even better than a soundcard in another computer, how cool would it be to be able to play a dvd on any computer in the house.

A truly whole house remote would be possible.
