Lauching shortcuts (.lnk) from XLobby

Postby Naylia on Sat May 21, 2005 1:32 am

Hey guys,

For some reason when I lauch some of my shortcuts from XLobby the program doesn't run properly. But if i goto the start menu and just click the link it works just fine. Both of these being the same shortcut to a program. And yes I need to use the shortcuts. I can't link directly to the executable. Any ideas?

how are you executing the shortcut within Xl? Why not use an OS event to launch the actual exe? Why must you use a .lnk file? did you try the browser category? What is really happening when you say "dont run properly"?

Naylia,

You need to manually enter the pathname & filename (for example, abc.exe.lnk). If you use the "browse" button to select your shortcut, I think it will point to the original exe file. Hope it helps

No it's correctly pointing to the .lnk file. I'll try using an os:execute and see what happens.

I thought I was smarter than this and had checked the path all the way down, but apparently I'm not. Good catch hvs! Thanks guys!
