Can it do all this?

Before I get flamed for asking such questions, please be assured I have read for many hours, and also have spoken very highly of this frontend on my blog in several posts. I am sure I have given you guys some extra traffic. To be honest I am just bored with the reading and decided to make my first post descriptive of what I am looking for. I am not asking for a list of how to's, rather just some simple yes or no's.

I have an extensive collection (about 1.5TB) of media and it is divided in many ways. I have American movies, Thai Movies, American concerts, Thai concerts, American music videos, Thai music videos, American MP3 and Thai MP3. Yet the only way to sort it by the default configuration is movie and MP3. Can it be sorted from the main screen with English or Thai media selections leading to submenus of Music video, movies, series, and concerts ?

The thing is the way it works now I have thousands of video files all simply listed in the movies section and it is daunting if not impossible to find what I am looking for quickly. I have played with the database features by hitting F2 and it just does not seem possible.

Too, as far as the games emulators, I have several of those, N64, SNES, Atari and Xbox can I use all of those? I am happy with the system thus far, I just feel very restricted. Reading till my eyes hurt just sort of hoping someone to point me in the right direction. I would happily continue reading if I knew just what or where to be finding the info.

Also as far as the skins or themes, do the skinners often do any customization or is that sort of out of the question?

yes, multiple datatbases

hmmm.... tricky, that would take some manipulation. I dont know if you can do it as of now. but that doesnt mean it is not possible

You could reorganize your files and / or filter your movies for quick search and find.

I have successful emulated all of those except xbox, (my system is too slow). Yes.

Yes we all customize. And so can you, that is the beauty of Xlobby!

Thanks for the reply Colby, btw I liked your skin.

I am curious about the first one you answered more than any other. I have used the database option trying to figure it out. I have a database with just concerts imported. But I have no idea how to get the concerts to appear as an option on the main window for the skin. That part is very overwhelming for me.

In fact all my media is organized in into databases the way I would like the options to be from the main screen. I also have all the emulators installed, and just don't know how to add them either.

As far as further organizing my media, that seems very difficult. I have my Thai and American movies both are broken down into 10 different folders. Same with all other media. So I have American Movies 1, American Movies 2, etc.... I just don't see it going any smaller. I can manage browsing through that, but it does not seem to display as folders yet. I am sure I can figure that part out later though. I just would like to get some major functionality in there, such as distinguishing which language of movies to watch.

If I could get something that simple in place my family could actually run this full time, instead of me just playing with it on my desktop. That too is annoying, seeing these gorgeous skins and not yet having any functionality other than MP3's & American movies. It is like constantly repairing a classic vette, yet never driving it.

I am assuming you understand a little about Xlobby. Databases are the core. And categories display contents of these dbs. If you have a database, make a category in the skin editor and link it to a database. Then they will be displayed.

I am currently working on a better emulator solution for my setup. (Actually I am overhauling it all) I hope to integrate some of the good emulators better since my xlobby is a game machine more than a movie one.
