Carbon Fiber Skin & The resolution variable

Postby ernestp on Tue Jul 19, 2005 5:49 pm

Hello Baddabing,

I'm using this skin on a Viewsonic Airpanel as a Xlobby client, and I'm using the "resolution" variable to set the image to 640x480 in the server.txt file so that the page will update quicker on my Airpanel. it seems the image does not shrink down at all. When I load Xlobby on the HTPC server and tell it open at 640x480 it works fine so is it some quirk in Xlobby or maybe this variable does work or you screens can't be shrunk in
client side mode.

Below is the description of the resolution variable.

Thanks

resolution:

the resolution you wish to use, should be set to "auto" unless speed becomes an issue. If your having speed issues try setting a lower resolution while keeping the aspect ratio the same. So if your client is running at 800x600 you could try 640x480 or 320x240 because they all have the same aspect ratio.

Have you tried simultaniously running both the server and the client at 640x480? Which Viewsonic panel are you running - the 15 inch or the 10 inch? I'm running the Airpanel 110 and with 300 movies and 1100 albums my screen refresh is about a second and a half - and this is with the old executable. Steve just released a new executable for clients that caches the images to the client for even faster screen redraws - haven't had a chance to test it yet but it looks promising. Look for it here: http://www.xlobby.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=3384

I have the Airpanel 150P, I have the HTPC server running at 640x480 and tried setting the same on the panel but it defaults to 1024x768. I kinda like the screen image to be around 640x480. I will have to check my screen update to see if it matches yours. also I know there is no minimize button on your skin, I can just add one, Great skin by the way it's 85% of what I wanted. I'm working on getting the XMLTV screens to work and adding some tweaks to the Music screens (more info) other than that...It a very Great start to learning Xlobby.

I just would like to get the screen size down to 640x480 and I'll be happy. You don'ty know if it's a bug with xlobby do we I have not searched thru the bug list to see if this has been reported.

Talk to ya later....
