Xlobby plugin development

Xant - badubo. pls help me...

Postby freebits on Tue Nov 30, 2004 12:51 pm

Badubo....

I used ant2xlobby.exe for converting ant movie catalog db to xml format.

That can convert the unicode data correctly as you can see in the following link. For your information, I use Korean.

http://shyguy.efnet.co.kr/ant2xlobby.jpg

But, xant.dll ignores the unicode format I think because the result made by the xant.dll is not showing Korean characters. Pls. see the below.

http://shyguy.efnet.co.kr/xant.jpg

If this is ture, can you fix this problem?

Thank you in advance,
[Shyguy]

can you also post the original export (the one that is working) before and after ant2xlobby ?

Do you know wich charset you use ? is it ks_c_5601-1987 or EUC-KR ?

Korea Unicode

Badubo,

The EUC-KR is generally used as a unicode type for Korea.

And I'll post those files in this evening.

html/xml link

Postby freebits on Wed Dec 01, 2004 10:59 am

Badubo,

Pls. download the following link.

http://shyguy.efnet.co.kr/nschoi.html <- exported amc file

http://shyguy.efnet.co.kr/movies.xml <- final xml database.

xml file is not properly converted for opening via internet explorer but it doesn't contain broken(not unicode) Korean characters

Try this update :

http://users.skynet.be/badubo/temp2/XAnt.dll

when you want to use a specific charset (and not the 1252, that remains the default), append to the ini-section of the database, the key :

charset=mycharset

where mycharset is the literal name of the charset

for korean :
charset=csksc56011987

Badubo,

It works like a charm!!! I can ses all the Korean characters correctly in the Xlobby.

Thank you so much....

One more question!!

If I have 2 cd divx movie like cd1\test1.avi, cd2\test2.avi in the movie folder named Terminator.

Terminator ----cd1--test1.avi
.................|
.................|---cd2--test2.avi

How can I set up AMC so that I can see only one coverart of the movie and it contains 2 cd's information? I would like to play 2 cds under the one coverart page.. But, I don't want to move 2 files in the upper folder. Becuase I have too many that type of movies in HDD.

Thanx,

Weird Thing...

Postby freebits on Thu Dec 02, 2004 2:11 pm

Badubo,

When using new Xant.dll file, I found over half of the coverarts included in the AMC db are not converted correctly. As you can see the coverart parameter below, it only shows the $$ITEM_PICTUREFILENAME as a loction instead of the exact directory of the cover files. Over half of the screen is filled with the blank page. Posters are not shown.
I don't know which posters are shown up or not. But, most large pictures collected by the scripts are not converted correctly.

BTW, all the korean is OK though.

This is coverted movie.xml file.

<year>2003</year>
<genre />
<rating>80/10</rating>
</information>
</item>
- <item>
<parameter>"% " "http://movie.naver.com/search/movie.php?code=C6342"</parameter>
<coverart>$$ITEM_PICTUREFILENAME</coverart>
<display>28일 후</display>
- <information>
<name>28 Days Later...</name>
<title>28 Days Later...</title>

Some pictures in your dba are internals (in dba) others are externals (somewhere on your HD).

Do you know which ones are not exported?

if you open your .amc dba from the same location in AMC, did you see all pictures?

As an example, "28 days later" is not shown even with AMC

I didn't made many tests with external pictures

pictures in the XL

Postby freebits on Thu Dec 02, 2004 4:00 pm

Badubo,

The previous amc didn't contain the pictures so, I re-added the picture in the AMC and converted it to xml file. But Xlobby doesn't show the '28 days after' poster.

I don't know how to add internal/external pictures. I just collected those posters using the script files. but for sure the poster appears in the AMC but not in Xlobby.

How can I recognize the external/interal picture? Any insight?

The external picture doesn't appear in the Xlobby when using the new ddl file though.

'24 days later' has external picture I found. When I save its poster, new file called c6342-00.jpg is created in the catalog folder. Then, I quit the AMC and run the Xlobby. But Xlobby doesn't show the '24 days later'.

Is there any way to include the big pictures into AMC DB?
I think AMC doesn't include large size posters to keep the DB size small.
I usually prefer good resolution poster(file size is big..) because it displays the detail when run in the high res. 1920*1080 HDTV screen.

Can you tell me your icq #? I would like to talk with you online. Mine is 3546002.

Can you test again :

be sure to download the last version.
http://users.skynet.be/badubo/temp2/XAnt.dll

If it doesn't work, please verify on your directory :
c:\temp\AMC\Catalogs\
if the image : "Movies32.jpg" exists and correspond to 28 days after
verify also the content of the generated .xml

Badubo....

I found this time it works smoothly. All the external files are shown up in the xlobby. Thank you!!!!

But, can I ask you a favor one more time?
I would like to see my Korean Title in the Xlobby movie menu.
Only English titles are shown. Of couse the the movie infor like plots, etc are all Korean. Is this reated with the xant.ini's 'sort' parameter?

Thanks,
