Vintage skin www

This is the place to post your skins, and discuss skinning

Postby rika on Fri Aug 18, 2006 6:21 am

The feedback on this skin has been great, thanks all!
This skin is done with fireworks (eye candy 4000 plugin for wood and crome. http://www.alienskin.com).
When exporting from layerd png to a psd i have to render all effects otherwise they dont show up right in PS.
So you cant alter the effects in PS, but you can always ad new ones.
If you want to be able to edit the effects you have to use fireworks and the layerd png fils.
If you come up with somethig good, shere it with us here.
If this makes your day, dont foreget to donate to Steven  That keep this going.

HERE you can find the layerd pngs.

HERE you can find the psd´s

:!:
Anybody how want to tweak this skin or "borrow" some buttons for there own skin are free to do so as long as your work not is for commercial use
:!:
(Steven excluded...)

Great job Rika!!! This just confirms that fact that I will never be able to learn enough about XL. The moving arrow is the coolest graphics feature I have seen yet!!!

Rika, any sneak peek possible about your new project? Or atleast info about theme? :P

Have to say that allthough i agree with earlier poster that vintage is best looking skin ive ever seen for any program (actually the reason i was drawn into using xlobby in first place), it doesnt go with my case as well as your dragon, so im sticking with it...

Hello Rika & other Xlobby Fans,

Hoping that someone might be able to help me here.

If you want to run this skin, stretched, in any resolution, even 16:9 wide.
just download THIS new background and in vintage skin backgrounds folder change backmenu.jpg
Now you also have to open and edit every .xml screen file. Search and replace :<keepaspectratio>True</keepaspectratio> with <keepaspectratio>False</keepaspectratio>
Done, now you can run vintage skin in any resolution. (This works with any skin)

"edit every .xml screen file..."

PLEASE excuse my ignorance but is this all of the ".xml" files except those starting with "PPC~" ? (that is 102 xml files!)

Any guidance or help would be greatly appreciated!

download "search and replace" and just select all xml files in the directory (not subs) and then go. Done

Are these files still available (The current link goes to the xlobby homepage)? I love the look of this theme and am interested in trying to create a similar theme in meedio.

Thanks!
