DVD PRofiler Import

Postby ddiv on Tue Mar 09, 2004 2:01 am

Hi,

I just tried to import my DVDPRofiler collection as an .xml file but to my dismay, no covers were brought over with it. Do I have to export as a .csv to get covers? Also, when I tried to download them individually through Xlobby (something I really dont want to have to do with 200+) it would save the first cover, then the secod\nd cover would replace the first and so on...so if I try to dl 3 covers, they all end up being the same 3rd one!

Any ideas???

Thanks!

To import dvd profiler databses it should be in .xml not .csv, so you were correct in what you did there. What version of xlobby are you using? As for the covers, I believe that has all been fixed in the new alpha teaster.

Thanks

It's pretty stable, but personally I'de wait till its final release, keep working with the current alpha and get the hang for it, then tear it up when the new one comes out. :D To answer your question the new alpha needs most skins to be... tweaked. Button actions need to be changed around and so forth. Back to the orig topic, any luck getting this to work? Try hitting the "Load all dvds" option. That will load all the dvds in the xml and not just the ones located on your computer, if any. Good luck!

but youa re saying that the covers *should* be brought in with the xml file? Im sure I hit load all..I will try again...the descriptions are all there, just not the covers...

oh wait, I brought the export over from another computer...do I need to bring the whole profiler folder over? Do they store the images in a separate folder???

Yep, when you enter the dvds into the program it downloads the cover art (not very good mind you) to the dvd profiler program folder. So you should move the folder over to the computer running xlobby, or just transfer over the database to the computer with xlobby and then reload the database (making sure to download all the info again) and export a new xml file. Good luck.

Anytime, with the new xlobby alpha you'll be able to select which ones are imported by typing in the status (IE: owned, borrowed, wishlist, etc.) So wait till then and you'll be set.

I'm having the same problem. I export an XML file using DVD Profiler but the cover art does not appear in Xlobby, instead I get a bunch of solid white rectangles.

DVD Profiler is located on the same machine as Xlobby and I can view the coverart files in C:\Program Files\DVD Profiler\IMAGES

Is there a skin editor setting that could cause this? I'm using Baddabings skin settings:

I'm using the latest version of Xlobby located in http://www.xlobby.com/xlobby2.zip because the released version has a bug preventing DVD Profiler imports.

In the database section of setup <F2> where you import the movie database there is a entry for DVD profiler. It should be the location where the DVD profiler program is installed. If this is not correct, your images will not show since that is where they are stored and this setting is how xlobby finds them.

Hopefully that solves your problem.
