Importing pictures and movies

Postby andymorgan1 on Tue Feb 14, 2006 7:13 am

Hi all..When I try and import either jpg pictures or ifo movies the progress bar scans my specified directory and gets to 100% completed but the "close" button is greyed out and stays like that. When I close the window and try to look at what I have imported there is nothing there. Music importing works fine. Any ideas??

Thanks

Your picture and movie database may have gotten corrupted somewhere along the line. Try deleting them (either via the Setup panel, or manually) and starting again.

I have tried deleting these 2 databases, from f2 setup and from the directory under xlobby. Still no luck. Is there a way I should be creating a new database?
When I import the same movie file as a trailer it works ok

If you go into F2 > Databases, highlight Movies and hit the Import tab, is "video_ts.ifo" among the formats listed in the Extension field?

No idea why your picture import isn't working. Is it possible they're saved as .jpegs and not .jpgs?

When you say the scan bar gets to 100%, is it finding stuff along the way?

I'm having the same issue...all my movies are stored in ISO format in a folder. When I click import, no movies are imported and the close button is greyed out -- definite bug.

I can't tell if it's finding anything either because it goes so fast....when I import music, I can see it finding files because I have 2500 songs but I've noticed a glitch with this also...after it finds all my music and the progress bar is at 100%, it says "Saving Database...Please wait" forever and the "Close" button is again greyed out...all I can do is click the X to close the window but this may be interfering with this windows functionality *shrugs*

Have you added ISO to the list of formats to search for? If not, hit F2 > Databases, Highlight Movies > Import Tab and make sure "iso" (no periods or quotes) is in the Extensions field.

Define "forever." An import of that many songs can take a bit to process. It could also mean you have some non-ASCII characters in your filenames. Believe, me, these basic functions have been more or less bug-free for a while and normally work smoothly. Odds are the "glitch" or "bug" are on your end...
