search entry and toggle buttons

I have 2 questions maybe they should go the the skin forum, but anyway.

1) How do you have a display so when someone types in a search/ filter it is dispalyed in a box. Also would need to be linked to a reset button.

2) Is it possible to setup buttons so that they toggle betwen states, ie rather than have open and add buttons on the music selction screen of my crowded ppc can I have just the one button that changes between these 2 states?

Re 1) Not sure if you mean via a physical keyboard or a vrtual one. I suggest you have a look at the abc overlay in the default skin to get some ideas.

Re 2) You could do this with the "Button hide" and "button show" from the event manager.
Add these to the music:album open/add events and you can cycle through any number of buttons.

[EDIT] Sorry but the button hide trick doesn't work. Hiding a button leaves it in front/back of the other buttons and you can't change that dynamicaly.
A not quite so easy solution is to use an overlay containing the toggle button only. The downside is that your remaining buttons have to be replicated onto the overlay or you won't be able to press them. Use the commands open overlay and close overlay for this.
