Hello,
On the forum for myHTPC I found a nice way to rip a CD from the XLobby enviroment. Hold your horses, it isn't perfect. The original post can be found here (http://myhtpc.net/forum/viewtopic.php?t=3993)
You will need windows media player 9 (free download --> http://www.microsoft.com/windows/windowsmedia/download)
Create a new button in xlobby. Copy this text into the "Extrenal Apps" tab
c:\program files\windows media player\wmplayer.exe /prefetch:3 /Task:CDAudio /RipAudioCD "E:"
Where E: is my CD drive
- You can preset your preferences (file location etc.) in media player
- You might have to turn off the auto-play mode for your CD.
Some disadvanteges:
- It's microsoft...
- Your forced to use the wma format. MP3 is possible if you buy a plugin $9,95), but LAME is not available.
- Ape format not available
- The windows media player gets in front of XLobby (Which I don't like. I want XLobby to be on top always)
Advantages:
- It's quite fast, which suprises me, as I use an old CD player in my HTPC. (No need yet for DVD )
- Winamp 5 can handle the wma format, you will have to tell Xlobby the wma format should also be used.
Hope someone can use this info.
