Problem with download

Postby molach on Fri Nov 10, 2006 6:28 am

Hello,
I have a problem getting xlobby to load on my computer. after I installed the program, I clicked on the desktop icon to open the program, I get a pop up error saying the application has created an exception that cant be handled, it then asks to be debugged. In the next window it says it cannot find a JLT debugger and asks for one to be loaded manually. I have tried to re download the program assuming that something went wrong the first time, but I keep getting the same thing. What am I doing wrong here, I have never seen an error like this and cant find any info about it. Anyone have the same problem, How do I get around this. I was also wondering if I have the correct version of netframe installed. On Microsofts download page it has 3 versions under 2.0, x86, an x64, and another. I did the x86, is this the wrong one, could this be my problem?
I have no other programs running during the download or install, and I am running windows 98 on this computer, if that helps. I really appreciate any help getting this working, I have been looking forward to working with this program since i found it, I hope this is a simple fix

Thanks for your patience Ed

Try 2.0. XLobby2 is utilizing 2.0 currently. That may be your problem.

When I clinked on the link for Netframe 2.0 , it redirects to the Microsoft Netframe download page where it gives 3 versions of Netframe 2.0 to download. One is version x86 another is version x64 the last is version ia64. I downloaded x86 version. This may be wrong. I could find anything to specify which version to use. They are all 2.0. Does anyone know which one I should use. Could this be my problem?
If needed I can post the entire error message if that would help.

Thanks for the help, Ed

I just used windows update and it gave me one choice of .net. I'm not at home otherwise I might be able to tell you which.
But windows update should be able to get you all set to run xlobby.

Sorry I mis-understood you. I thought you were saying that there were three vesions to download..2.0, X86 and X64, not realizing you were saying that under the 2.0 umbrella there were three versions.

Sorry about that.

Anyways try the link Lar282 displayed. Hopefully that will help.

I have downloaded the netframe 2.0 version 2.0, and xlobby onto my work computer, exactly as I did on my htpc computer and it worked just fine. It has windows xp on it where as the htpc has windows 98. I also have the program netremote pro on that htpc and netremote designer, do you think there may be a compatability issue between the two softwares.? The full error reads:

XLOBBY APPLICATION ERROR
APPLICATION HAS GENERATED AN EXCEPTION THAT COULD NOT BE HANDLED
PROCESS ID =OXFFCC F535(-3345009),THREAD ID OXFA98CC19(-90649575)
CLICK OK TO TERMINATE APPLICATION
CLICK CANCEL TO DEBUG THE APPLICATION

I clicked on Cancel to debug thinking there was a fix and I get

NO REGISTERED JLT DEBUGGER WAS SPECIFIED
CLICK ON RETRY TO HAVE PROCESS WAIT WHILE ATTACHING A DEBUGGER MANUALLY
CLICK ON CANCEL TO ABORT JLT DEBUG REQUECT
After that I cant get it to do anything, I have never heard of a JLT debugger. Anyone seen this before??

Thanks agian ED

I have done a Google for JLT debugger and came up with a similar error from a guy on another forum.
http://forums1.itrc.hp.com/service/foru ... dId=812056
His problem seems to be a corrupted netframe download and not having the correct service packs installed. When I get home I will uninstall everything and start over. Since the HTPC is in the build stage so far, I may just put XP on it and not use 98 at all. Marbles I appreciate your help. I will post If I get positive results in case someone else gets a similar problem.
