Xlobby plugin development

sending variables to plugin

Postby badubo on Tue Jul 06, 2004 8:00 pm

Hello Steven,

First of all thanks for enabling the use of arguments in plugin commands it will help me a lot :D

I have now a little question, I want to send a command to a plugin containing variables of xlobby (here, the channel and start time of the selected EPG item)

I tried : %epg>channel% %epg>time>%

But I receive them "as is" in the plugin, there are not expanded.
using them in a screen shows the requested information

How can I format these variables?

Also, do you have the list of variables we can reach ?

Note : I may be seen a little bug, it seems that epg variables are not accessibles if xlobby just generated the .dat (it works the second time we start xlobby

Thanks for all

After some testing,it seems that I cannot send variables (using %XXX>XXX%) at all.... I can only send fixed arguments

I would like to be able to send varibles the same way as a os/file execute event. For exemple, %channels>ID% for selecting a channel

The interest of argument in command is to send dynamic information, No?

Do you intend to extend capabilities of the command method?

Hi Steven,

It is not related to the epg, but for accessingthe different data that we can access in a screen : for exemple a "music>parameter" like we can have in the os/execute command line.

You gave access to this in goto screen event, so I guess it is also possible for any other event type

Thanks for your help

Did this ever get resolved? I would need access to movie variables so I can do Chad's plugin but as far as I can tell there is no way to get the title of the movie...

I'll bump on more time. I spoke with Steven about this but haven't really heard anything about any progress or if it is doable right now...
