1.1 is uploaded

BUG:
When u enter setup (F2 and choose XcallerID, u must restart xlobby for the plugin to work. TAPI breaks when u do this)

When an incoming call is detected the plugin writes an entry to CallerID.xml database. I included a sample screen for the databse.

Sorry if this sounds like a silly question, but can this plugin be used if an individual has not applied for 'call display services'?

*EDIT*
I should elaborate. Currently I'm with Bell, but I have not suscribed to their call display option. Even though I do not have the option from Bell, can I still use this plugin successfully?

No you can't. The switch (like Nortel DMS500 telecom switch in the local office) must be "programmed" to allow each user to have that information.

Lar,

Any chance of releasing the source code to this?

I want a good example to learn from.

Can Plugin accept YAC information/act as a YAC listener?

Postby smarty on Sun Sep 10, 2006 12:49 am

Since my modem that receives telephone calls is on a computer that does not run Xlobby (but does act as a YAC Caller ID server); is it possible to set this plugin up so that it accepts the callerid information like a YAC listener?

Another way of asking this question is......does the telephone line have to be attached to the comuter that is running Xlobby and this callerid plugin?

If not, in what form would the callerid information get to the plugin? I really like the features of this plugin, but my telephone is not hooked to my Xlobby computer.

Sorry for asking this question so badly.....

so u want a callerId listner but not phone line listner?
noop, it does not do that, but it SENDS yac and xap info to other machines.

I'll see if I can fix what u want. I just wrewrote the entire plugin so if I can figure out how to listen to yac messages over the net then i will add it. I'll let u know

Yes, your understanding is correct.

Thank you for taking the time to see if this MIGHT be possible.

I did add the yac thing but I do need YOUR help on one thing.

I need u to download and install the plugin. Just enable yac server in the plugin setup(and ofcource disable TAPI since u don't use it!)
Then make a call and I need u to send me the log file from the xlobby machine called Xcallerid.log located in the /log directory of xlobby.

I do not knwo how YAC sends the info on the net so I cannot format the message correctly. If I cannot do that I can't locate the phone number correctly on the internet.

Just paste the entiry log here please.

The first post is updated with download info.

forgot to say that I also made a client to recieve yac OR xap CallerID messages. You can use this client on computers not running xlobby to recieve mess from xlobby regarding callerID.

Download the RAR file again and there is a new directory with the exe in it.
